Smart and Skilled Courses

Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. It’s helping people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers.

Smart and Skilled provides eligible students with:

• an entitlement to government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III
• government funding for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas.

Under Smart and Skilled, fees are determined on eligibility. Students can check their eligibility for Smart and Skilled training at https://smartandskilled.nsw.gov.au/are-you-eligible

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

RPL is a process where a person with prior and current work experience can have their skills and knowledge assessed with the aim of being awarded a formal qualification. If you feel that you have the required skills and knowledge and can demonstrate current evidence for a qualification or part of a qualification, please contact us to discuss your needs. You will be guided through this process by our friendly administration team and given a detailed RPL Guide to assist you with collection of evidence. 

Credit Transfer (CT)

CT is if you have studied and completed a Unit of Competency at another Registered Training Organisation. At SBTA we will ensure that you will not be required to repeat a unit of competency which you have already completed elsewhere. This may lead to your course being shortened.

The Academy will not collect more than $1500 in prepaid fees from any domestic student in accordance with regulatory requirements.
