Certificate III in Hospitality is a nationally recognised qualification registered by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have a range of well-developed hospitality service, sales or operational skills and sound knowledge of industry operations. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities. This qualification provides a pathway to work in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, food and beverage.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The units of competency below have been selected with consultation with our industry partners. To gain the full qualification, you will be required to complete all units of competency listed below.

If you successfully complete and gain competency in all 15 units of competency listed below, you will be issued with a SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality qualification.

If you partially complete the course or only a few units from this qualification, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment from the SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality qualification for the units you have successfully completed.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirement into this qualification, however to study this course at SBTA, the students must:

be 18 years and over

Academic

A qualification at Certificate II in Business level; or  Other relevant qualification and completed year 11 or overseas equivalent

Have adequate core skills of being able to learn, read, write, research, use technology, work in teams and use numeracy as these skills are embedded in the study of this program;

English

present minimum score of upper intermediate level of English (IELTS 5.5) or;

present equivalent results of an English proficiency of upper intermediate level or above from any NEAS accredited ELICOS provider.

This course is delivered in a structured class-room based environment over one (1) academic year as follows:

PATHWAYS FROM THE QUALIFICATION

After achieving the qualification, students can gain a pathway into Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification.

Course fees for this qualification is $6,660 which is made up as follows:
