Course Description
This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior managers who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with specialised managerial skills and substantial knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate with significant autonomy and are responsible for making strategic business management decisions. This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector and for a diversity of employers including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multi-skilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage.

Certification
Students who successfully complete all units within this qualification will be issued with the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework) SIT60316 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification. Students who partially complete this course (a minimum of one unit of competency) will be issued with a Statement of Attainment from SIT60316 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification for the unit/s of competency successfully completed.

Entry requirements for students to study this qualification is listed below:
- be 18 years and over
Academic
- Have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 12 or overseas equivalent school qualifications
English
- Minimum score of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent; or
- an English proficiency of upper intermediate level or above from any NEAS accredited ELICOS provider.
Pathway information
Student can progress to tertiary education after successfully completing this qualification.
Course duration AND MODE OF STUDY
The course duration of this course is a total of 156 weeks (3 years) as follows:
- 108 weeks of face-to-face classroom learning
- 5 weeks of work placement
- 48 weeks of holiday breaks
