SBTA & SELA Open Talk
Study at SBTA & SELA
SBTA & SELA Weekly open talk
The SBTASELA Open talk this Friday was very emotional. I had the privilege to meet our lovely and brave Sbta student, Lilian who survived from a horrible car accident in February. She shared with us what she has been going through since the accident and that this quarantine hasn´t changed much her routine since she had already been staying at home to focus on her rehabilitation. She also said that she felt very lucky for being an SBTA student because the college gave her all the support she needed, emotional and financial so she was very grateful! She also commented on the fundraising event we organised for her around 2 months ago. She felt very blessed and couldn’t hold her tears.
Muhammad Tahir from Pakistan is one of our new students and he will study Diploma in Leadership and Management. He is a robotics engineer and had been working as a graduate engineer at CSIRO which is an Australia and New Zealand research company. At CSIRO, he was working with Australian scientists and other engineers from AU and NZ to develop a system capable of scanning the environment using its laser, which later will be installed in driverless cars. It is an honour to have such a talented and knowledgeable person studying with us. He later mentioned that Lilian´s story was really inspiring and that she was very brave to have come out of it with such a positive attitude for life. Because of that, he suggested that SBTA should give her the title of “The Bravest Woman of the Year”
Jan Moreland has also joined SBTA recently and she is will be in the Commercial Cookery course. She is from South Africa but had been living in the UK for the past 13 years where she was a Marketing professional. She decided to change her vocation to follow a dream so that is why she has joined the Cookery course at SBTA. She said she is super excited to start this course and start a new journey in her life doing what she loves! So she said being here is a dream coming true! We are very happy for you Jan!
See you all next week
