A practical course for those who wish to embark on a career path into the global world of travel and tourism. Study this course and gain a range of valuable practical skills and knowledge on how to provide travel advice, work with your clients, manage itineraries, research industry trends, prepare quotations and process bookings. You will also gain hands-on training in the most widely-used reservations systems such as Galileo and/or Amadeus which will prepare you to enter the exciting world of travel and tourism.

Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework) SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism qualification.  Students who partially complete this course (a minimum of one unit of competency) will be issued with a Statement of Attainment from SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism qualification for the unit/s of competency successfully completed.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirement into this qualification, however to study this course at SBTA, the students must:

  • be18 years and over


  • hold qualification at Certificate II level; or
  • Completed year 11 or overseas equivalent


  • Hold minimum score of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent or
  • an English proficiency of upper intermediate level or above from any NEAS accredited ELICOS provider

Course duration

This program will be delivered over a total of 52 weeks (1 year) which is made of up of 36 contact weeks plus 16 weeks of holiday breaks.

Study mode

Full-time course of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.

Pathways from the qualification

  • After achieving this qualification, students can gain a pathway and progress to study the SIT40116 Certificate IV in Travel and Tourism qualification.

Course fees for this qualification is $6,100 which is made up as follows:
