Certification

Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework) FNS50217 Diploma in Accounting qualification.  Students who partially complete this course (a minimum of one unit of competency) will be issued with a Statement of Attainment from FNS50217 Diploma in Accounting qualification for the unit/s of competency successfully completed.

Entry Requirements

  • 18 years and over
  • Completed Year 12 or overseas equivalent

  • Completion of FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set; or
    • FNSACC311 Process financial transactions and extract interim reports
    • FNSACC312 Administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers
    • FNSACC408 Work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry
    • FNSACC416 Set up and operate a computerised accounting system
    • FNSTPB401 Complete business activity and instalment activity statements
    • FNSTPB402 Establish and maintain payroll systems;
  • Completion of FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting or equivalent or;
  • Completion of FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent.

English proficiency

  • Minimum score of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent or an English proficiency of upper intermediate level or above from any NEAS accredited ELICOS provider.

 

Course Duration

This qualification is delivered 90 weeks (1 year 9 months) which includes 63 contact weeks plus 27 weeks of holidays.

Pathways

If you have successfully completed and are deemed competent in the FNS50217 Diploma of Accounting qualification, you can progress to study the FNS60217 Advanced Diploma of Accounting qualification.

Study mode

Minimum of 20 hours per week (minimum of 15 hours face-to-face plus 5 hours of distance learning per week)

Course fees

Students are required to complete the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping prior to undertaking the FNS50217 Diploma of Accounting course (CRICOS Code 098037K).

The total duration of the course is 7 terms and total cost is $11,515 which is made up as follows:

  • Total course fee: $11,515
  • Term fee: $1,645 x 7 terms
  • Enrolment fee: Student Visa $250 (Other visas $100)
  • Materials fee: $200
